I get to talk about old Sonic Fanart, oh boy lol.
Out of the fourteen years of deviantART, I've only been a member for one year and eight months of those years. The experience that I've had here has been really great.
I opened this account on New years day in 2013, I wanted to do it sooner, but I was unsure about it and to start off the new year, I made the account. I started drawing Sonic the Hedgehog fanart, which is weird to look back on, some of it was rather strange, and I didn't even bother posting it to here. Looking back at that is kind of like looking back on my childhood and things that I have done as a child, I think sometimes, "why did I ever do that??!" But honestly, the feedback I got from drawing those Sonic Characters made me feel inspired, it made me want to draw more and more, to get better and better, and I did. The drawing I got the most favorites on was a drawing of Rouge the Bat that I drew at school:
It went to over 500 favorites really fast. That was awesome.
Starting at the end of 2013, I decided that I'm going to move on from the Sonic Fanart. Since I turned 14 in that September, I grew out of it. Sonic didn't really interest me anymore. I'm really glad I moved on from it. I've been able to develop much much more as an artist. I've been more recognized at school, and I had my art displayed in 2 art shows in the spring semester of school. I don't think I would've if I stuck to drawing Sonic.
I have not been uploading to deviantART as much as I used to. I really want to make a promise to myself that I will do something once a week. Whether it be a tutorial, finished picture, a journal, or a WIP. I really want to be more active on here. This is a really amazing community. Happy Birthday deviantART!
